Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. At the age of five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and attended the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to become an actor by the age of six. For several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing, dancing and acting. Her performances had been in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows by the time she was ten years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000), the movie adaptation from J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for first time at the beginning of 1999. Emma was discovered through Emma's Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been chosen for these parts. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's screen debut took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001, the film set records for its debut day sales as well as its opening weekend earnings. Film critics praised the film as well as the performances of the three young stars. The widely distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma won the Young Artist Award as the Leading Young Actress for a Feature Film. Emma was nominated five times for her performance in the movie.
