Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. The Latin popular music scene has been impacted by his international reach. The hit song from 2016 Una Lady Como Tu was winner of the Colombian Kids Choice Award for Most Popular Song in 2017. In Medellin, Sony distributed La Industria Inc. and released ADN for his debut full-length album. The album reached number 8 in the Top Latin Albums Chart. Vaina Loca was a Top Five hit for Ozuna and for him in the following year. He released Dopamina, his chart-topping second album, in the following year. Later in 2021 he performed a duet on the TINI streaming hit track Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was made available in 2023. Turizo was born into a musical household both his parents have been musicians. In interviews, Turizo said that music is essential. As a child, he was instructed to perform on the guitar, piano and the ukulele. The first choice for his career was to be a veterinarian however, his brother Julian convinced him to study to sing with the help of a Cuban instructor. It was the result that he discovered his own talents for singing, and the result altered the direction of his life.
